Shiplake Village Community Club

Shiplake Village Community Club (SVCC) is an umbrella organisation under whose auspices a number of specialist groups are run, each with their own organiser.  Membership of the SVCC is open to any resident of Shiplake village and costs just £3.00 pa.  This entitles you to attend the meetings of any of the groups, (charges for visits etc are of course additional).  The membership secretary is Joe Jenkins, (940 2041).  The monthly programme is posted on notice boards around the village and will shortly also be available on this web site.

The current groups are:
Art  two groups led by Pam Varian & Shirley Abraham respectively
Art History led by Sue Jenkins
Books  led by Jackie Bryant
Bridge led by Eddy Ryder
Gardens led by Hilary Penrose
Local History led by Janet Matthews
Walking led by Alan Mitchell

To ensure that the club survives and thrives, we need new ideas for the future and new helpers.  Will anyone who feels that they could help with any of the existing groups or has any other ideas about new groups that they are prepared to help get going, please contact Joe.  The continuing success or otherwise of the SVCC is totally dependent on willing people coming forward to lead and participate in existing and new groups.
