15 days left to shape Shiplake

Have you had a chance to look at the drafted Neighbourhood Plan objectives and policies that will shape Shiplake in the years to come?  You can find them HERE in the 22 page NP Summary document.
We’d love to hear your reflections either here in the Forum or in the Questionnaire HERE before the consultation ends July 14th

Not simple questions to answer via a forum post but good ones for this evening's and next week's ZOOM Q&A sessions on the neighbourhood plan. The Govt. wants housing, developers always seek prestigious building sites and SODC's plan is currently being reviewed the Govt. Inspectorate. Having the views of residents on the plan via the current consultation process is important in getting the best plan for the villages.....many thanks you to all who have responded already.

There is currently extant planning permission for 218 more homes in Shiplake along the A4155. That's Retirement Village 65, near Tower House 2, Kemble Mews 4, Thames Farm 95, Thames Farm Barns 4, Mount Ida 8, Wyevale 40. (And there's a new application for another 20 going in for the field opposite the War Memorial.) If you think that's enough please say so by responding to the Neighbourhood Plan consultation. The original objective of 33 more homes has been achieved seven times over.

With respect to the resent number of planning request for homes to be built on the Reading road just outside of Lower Shiplake. Will these ridiculous requests be over and above the planning building numbers requested by the government
