BT Openreach

Hi all, I received a call this morning 0830 from a guy saying he was a BT Openreach engineer and reported that someone was intefering with my internet.  He had my old address and realed off a 10 digit licence number, he wanted me to sit infront of my computer etc, all a bit unconvincing.  The caller dispaly was 01189345514.  I rang the number which was not recognised.  I dont know if this is a scam however please be aware

We have received 3 calls supposedly from Openreach, within the last 2/3 days Two beginning 020 ---- and one 'International'. Once I have the gist of what the call is about I just cut them off.

Definitely a scam, my elderly parents got caught by this as the "engineer" persuaded her there was an issue with their hub. Fortunately their bank returned 95% of the money that was taken from their account.

Phone number 01189345514 is flagged up as 'Dangerous' on the internet, I advise everybody to use their call banning facilities to ban calls from this number. https://who-called.co.uk/Number/01189345514

Same here, Shiplake Cross. Didn’t get as far as the conversation, just put the phone down. Monkeys!
