Thames Farm Proposals Update

A quick note to let everyone know that there is a preliminary update available following todays meeting with Taylor Wimpey at Thames Farm Update 24 February 2021

And.....yes you are correct about the disruption to the Highway, although their previous idea would have not only disrupted the A4155, but also Station Road into the Village and Mill Road. Given the proximity of the grouting works to the Aquifer, the EA and Thames Water will both have to be consulted and Talor Wimpey will also need an Environmental Permit to do these works. When we have more information we will let everyone know. Peter @ TFAG

Hello Sarah, and thanks for the response. TFAG are continuing to press Taylor Wimpey for more data on the crucial issue of the Aquifer, not to mention details of the on-site works which will be extensive, dirty noisy and probably a lot of vibrations from the processes as well as very many vehicle movements of course. On the issue of the exact route of the pipe, TW say that this will be entirely within the Highway and or verge. We also await any detailed Flood Risk Assessment from TW at present.

In the newly proposed route - flooding and ponding expected in the vicinity of the sports pitches opposite Tesco. Does not Henley Town Council have plans to build a new sports pavilion on this site? No mention in the hydrogeology section of the reduced input of water into the aquifer below Thames Farm which is used for water supply - will Thames Water/EA be consulted on this? Significant disruption to Shiplake to Henley travel with laying of pipe along A4155
