Shiplake water supply - Thames Farm

Does anyone know if the aquifer under the Thames Farm site supplies water to Shiplake via the Harpsden borehole?

Given that the TF site is not in Shiplake Parish Council area and the threat to divert runoff into Lower Shiplake appears to have receded - the remaining concern to Shiplake residents might be the the aquifer and the hydrogeology of the site as raised by the JBA report.

........questions at the end of this week, but we remain suspicious as to why this is taking so long for them to release if the data already exists.

Thanks Barry, yes that information is correct. Its a fairly unique situation in the UK and as we understand it Henley has very little back up to that supply hence it is a very important asset for the local population as a whole. We have been pressing Taylor Wimpey for their full suite of data about the site voids and depth of the proposed grouting works, but they have been unwilling hitherto to release that information to us. There most recent note suggests that we might get answers to........

From last TFAG update - The aquifer under Thames Farm is a major part of the water supply to Henley, Shiplake and the local area. The pumping station at the top of Bolney Lane, is the extraction point for this water and is only 50 yards from Thames Farm!!!! So should the water quality be compromised the consequences could be disastrous for the wider community.
