Henley considers building more homes on Shiplake's doorstep
Please be aware that Henley is reviewing whether to build even more homes right on Shiplake's doorstep.
At yesterday's Shiplake Parish Council Planning Committee meeting we discussed the propsoed sites within Henley & Harpsden's update to their Neighbourhood Plan which shows a number of sites they might include and that landowners have put forward. These include six sites adjacent to Shiplake and are each unsustainable without the use of Shiplake's amenities. Shiplake would get no benefit for these builds and they would materially impact the rural nature of our villages.
If you have any time and are near to Henley town hall in Market Place from 10am to 3pm on Friday July 2nd or Saturday July 3rd please make Shiplake's voice heard.
The sites shown in their plans are: Thames Farm (NW corner) / Thames Farm (NE corner) / Former Wyevale garden centre (increase from 40 to 60 units) / The Bungalow, off Reading Road / Crossways, off Reading Road / Hallemead House, off Woodands Road/ sites and descriptions, visit jhhnp.org.uk
Separately Shiplake PC will be making representations to Henley about their continuing planning on Shiplake's boundary.
