Over development in Emmer Green
I encourage Shiplake residents to object to the continued (3rd) attempt to develop Reading Golf Club for 223 properties.
The developer at Caversham Park has also applied for a scoping opinion for 150 properties plus a 64 bed care home.
While Shiplake residents will be less affected by the proposals than those in Caversham and Emmer Green, the traffic towards Henley will undoubtedly increase even further.
This is the last green land in Emmer Green that has not yet been built on - we would very much appreciate comments from our neighbours in SODC who have also suffered for many years at the hands of developers. It just takes a minute or so:

Certainly some people will stand to benefit from the development - e.g. golf course shareholders - as Barbara has happily highlighted. All residents will get stuck in the additional 1,500 car journeys in Henley and Caversham that this development will create. Taking a step back, should we build on park land, and doesn't that affect everyone? This estate isn't required as Reading has a 7 years land supply. Thanks for everyone's help.

This land is privately owned by Reading Golf Club and the proposed development would allow the public to enjoy acres of green land by allowing access to many leisure areas, including family golf and extensive walking paths, as part of a sensitively designed, much needed development of attractive family homes in Emmer Green. The impact on traffic coming towards Henley would be minimal and therefore this development would not really have any negative effect on the residents of Shiplake.
