Retirement Village: Officer recommending approval of plans including three and four-storey apartment blocks
The application for approval of the 'Reserved Matters' for the construction of the Retirement Village will be heard by the planning committee on Tuesday 22nd February. The officer is recommending approval, including the three and four-storey apartment blocks. The report can be found here.
I have asked the parish council to coordinate the village response and they are meeting tonight (14th February).

All those attending need to have a device that can access ‘teams’ and headphones. Not very inclusive. Also if people watch at home, as requested I presume that the committee will have no idea how many are tuning in. Or is this not the case?

Attendance can be in person or remote. Objectors will have received instructions in the letter they were emailed. As Joanne says, it is vital there is a good turn-out from the village on Tuesday.

We need to try to have a large presence at the planning committee in Abingdon so perhaps people could consider if they are able to make it. There will be more posted on this site soon.

Dan & Wendy, click on the link above and you will see the officer's reasoning (not that I agree wit it).

The various posts objecting to this reserved matters application would seem to provide compelling arguments against this plan, so why is the officer minded to approve it ? It would certainly impact on the different proposal being put forward for the Wyevale site., with removal of green areas.
