Rail track renewal - Bolney Lane improvements

Prior to track renewal (14th-18th August) the surface of Bolney Lane  needs improvement to facilitate its use as an alternative access  to Bolney Road, Basmore Lane and Lashbrook Road during the installation of the new track.

The surface  from the A4155 to the railway bridge needs relatively small improvement with 'scalpings' applied as a temporary measure to level the surface (August 1st). The surface from the bridge to Bolney Road is very poor, even for walkers, and requires  a stronger surface, the work for which is planned for August 2nd to 4th,  working roughly 07:00-17:00 each day, leaving the site traversable to pedestrians and vehicles (should they wish to do so) each night.

Signage is planned during the road works and pedestrians will be  escorted through the site as appropriate. Vehicles, if they appear, are to be asked to turn around to use Station Road during this period. Given the limited use of the lane any inconvience caused should be minor.
