Flooding on A4155 next to Haileywood Farm and Retirement Village

FixMyStreet reports ENQ23972527 and now ENQ23984417 refer.

The OCC Highways gully emptying crew attended the location at 5am on 20/12/23 and cleansed both surface water gullies. These were operational on the team's departure, however further works are required at this location due to the blocked drainage ditch.

OCC Highways has now placed this location on the future program of works to carry out further investigation to get the matter fully resolved. I’ve asked that they make this a high priority.

OCC is attending today to address the carriageway ponding. Officers advise that the ditch nearby seems to be operational but it’s at full capacity and the grounds are still saturated from recent rainfall. On investigation, OCC identified that the larger ditch further down used as an overflow to this system has unfortunately been compromised by the new development. OCC is working with SODC to put pressure on the landowner/developer to rectify the situation.

Many thanks David, just keep reminding who ever should be making the decision to alleviate this problem until it is finally resolved, possibly in my lifetime.......

I have today pressed officers for an update. I continue to get emails on the subject and frequently see the problem with my own eyes.

Many thanks for this post David. I have personally reported this problem on "Fix-my-Street" several times in the last few years and absolutely nothing at all has been done to resolve it. Hopefully something will be done now but I won't be holding my breath.....
