Not all Shiplake residents have NIMBY syndrome! Some of us would welcome new housing development for younger and less well off residents.It is well documented that NHS staff are not highly paid and where do you expect the staff of our state of the art new Henley hospital to live? Constant objections to developments by well heeled residents are not helpful.

/....Development is a natural consequence of a growing population and a national housing problem. We are not all NIMBY's and development MUST take place somewhere.
Our aim is to try and shape not just where development might go, but also the type of development, although ultimately the owner or developer of a site generally will do what makes the best profit for them.
I hope you will all participate and make your views known to the Steering Group and complete the questionnaire out soon. Peter

Hello All,
Some of you will know me some not, but I am Chair of the Steering Group producing a neighbourhood plan for Shiplake Villages. One of our objectives is to find out what the whole community wants and how the villages should evolve over the plan period to 2032. The resultant plan which will include sites nominated as suitable for residential development will then go to a referendum locally for all entitled to vote upon. Ultimately our objective is to shape the future for the Villages/..
