A house called Eversley

I believe that my great grandmother (Ellen Augusta Bradley, later Ellen Augusta Falls Campbell) lived in a house called "Eversley" in Shiplake up to when she died in 1945. Does this house still exist? If so, where is it? Can anyone pinpoint where it is on a Google map, or does any one have any photos of it? If it does not exist, does anyone know anything about it's history, or where it was, or have photos?

Many thanks - Rowan

Can easily take a screen shot , but don't know how to send it without having your email address ? Don't think it will work through this link, but can ask the webmaster tomorrow.

Do you mean Edward VII, or Edward VIII? It would have been around the time of Edward VIII, so she would have had to be very old fashioned to be wearing the clothes of Edward VII!

I'm now not sure whether this is in Shiplake or whether it is/was in Woodley, where apparently my great grandmother lived (at Lanes Farm), presumably with her husband Richard Falls Campbell before moving to Shiplake. The house in the picture does not seem to be Eversley, because it is a different shape from that house when viewed in Google Aerial.

Thanks to Dan & Wendy for their reply.

>Have just looked at the entry in Kelly's directory of 1931 and there is indeed a Mrs. Falls -Campbell living at "Eversley"

Excellent, thanks and well done for finding this. Is it possible for you to scan the relevant page or pages of Kelly's and send them to me? I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks - Rowan

Does anyone recognise this house (http://www.sylvesterbradley.org/images/eversley.png), which is/was called Eversleigh in Shiplake or Lower Shiplake in the 1930s?

Thanks - Rowan
