I have been working as a volunteer with the Neighbourhood Plan team all this year. I believe in the concept of the plan. And although it will not please everyone, it represents the best compromise to unrestrained development sprawl. The process has been closely monitored by SODC, and is subject to consultation at all stages. Very sad to find a small number of residents attempting to thwart a legitimate process by distributing anonymous official-looking document in Shiplake News.

I am not sure why it is of note that I was at the parish council meeting, it is not the first time I have attended. It was a very interesting meeting, I recommend that more residents should go and I am sure Mr Pheasant has briefed you on the discussions that took place.

Dear Mrs Stone, the note that you refer to from me was simply an initial response to a document that had a number of strands to it, some of which suggested to me that the writer of that document had either not read or had misunderstood some of the material that was displayed at the public exhibition of 3 and 4 November. I am aware that you were at last nights PC meeting, and we will be providing more information about the context of the NP for the benefit of all residents. I hope this helps.

Yes, I know there was a small section on the form for comment, but surely that isn't the whole involvement village residents were intended to have, in a 'VIllage plan'. The section on the NP site was clearly an after thought, and in my case appeared on the web after I received an extremely unpleaseant letter from the Committee chair. I think residents should have a genuine chance to be involved without all the NIMBY comments and snide remarks. I am seeing a whole new side of Shiplake.

Why can't we see what comments that have been made in NP section of the forum. Why don't the commttee want residents to see other reidents points of view of the plan.

Joanne

Visitors to the open exhibition were invited to comment verbally and via the forms. There is also a whole section on this website inviting comment.

I have also been a volunteer for the NP, but when it arrived I was a little amazed. In June we received a letter saying all the things it was hoping to do. When it was presented at the exhibition there was very little content apart from the housing side, and no real opportunity for people to comment. Compare this to the Henley & Harspden public involvement. As a plan for the whole village I cannot believe the fuss when people try to be involved. Perhaps the village should have an open discussion
