NEW PLAYGROUND FOR LOWER SHIPLAKE
An SODC grant and Shiplake Parish Council funds have been made available to renew the playground, as we have done at Memorial Hall. The 3 design options with facilities are illustrated on the Home page poster. Take a look.....interesting options....what are your views and preferences? Let us know...A, B, or C.....email the parish clerk using this link: clerk@shiplakepc.com. or the same link on the poster.

I completely agree with the previous comments by Lizzie Sibley. Also improved signeage would be helpful!

Having looked at the proposed playground designs, I just wanted to share a quick thought as a neighbour and regular user of the space.
From what we see day-to-day, it’s mostly older primary/early secondary kids (around 10–15) using the playground, with younger children already really well catered for at the Memorial Field.
It would be great if the redesign could reflect that a bit more – even one or two more “interesting” pieces like a zip wire, monkey bars or trampoline would make a huge difference and give older kids a reason to use and respect the space.
Feels like a real opportunity to create something that works for the whole community, not just the very youngest age group.
