A LOAD OF RUBBISH!

The season of new life, long sunny days and old habits is upon us!

New life is being produced by nature all around us, but along with it, sadly, are our old, ignorant habits!

If you venture down to the river at Shiplake you may want to take a rubbish bag with you - on Tuesday we filled 3 large bin liners with beer, cider and energy drink cans, glass and plastic bottles, plastic food containers, sweet wrappers, crisp tubes, countless remnants of orange balloons, empty snack bags, burnt pieces of wood and other bits and pieces.

Who is leaving this rubbish?  There's no doubt - whoever you are - that it will be lighter to take back with you than it was to take it down in the first place - where's the logic?

If anyone reading this post is responsible or knows of anyone who might be - perhaps you could enlighten us?

Meanwhile - if you go down to the river today ......... you'd better take a rubbish container if you are able and care enough!

Perhaps some education in households as to how this rubbish can destroy the beauty of the environment we are lucky enough to live so close to, might be a start!
